RELATIONSHIP WITH MARCUS

Kade puts every ounce of his life into Marcus’s hands and trusts him to keep the man safe and levelheaded. Marcus knows this. They are both very protective of each other and of the team, they were through/still do a lot of training exercises together and trust building tests, plus they've worked in the field enough that they trust each other. Kade trusts Marcus to guide him through the field and monitor him and Marcus trusts Kade enough to sometimes bend the rules and regulations in favor of keeping the team safe.

They will joke and play around with each other but both know when Kade needs to stop arguing and blindly trust Marcus, even when it goes against his own instincts. Kade is out in the field at almost all times the team is, being the combat medic, so Marcus is on base monitoring. He works in an office across from Eli’s and it’s a heavily secured room. It has monitoring on Kade's vitals through the implant in Kade’s spine/neck and brain (which were put in before Marcus became Kade's handler) and it also has file cabinets filled with paperwork on Kade. Medical history, past incidents, notes on every little detail of the man.

Marcus monitors and guides Kade on field through private comms or through a sensor against Kade’s ribs that will send signals into his ribs that Kade has learned to read and understand. Kade is required by regulations and law to have a shock collar on at almost all time, Marcus hates this and will take it off when he's able to. Kade is also not allowed to be on field if Marcus is not back at base connected to him, it is a legal requirement for the Task force to have Kade as an asset.

Kade has insomnia issues, he can’t sleep alone because of pack instincts needing him to be watched over. So he sleeps in Marcus’s room often. While Kade does trust Marcus he will push against his control a lot, arguing and wrestling the man. Often posturing against the man and picking fights just to test the bounds of Marcus’s control. Marcus and the team are used to this and know how to handle it.

Kade sees the Task Force as a pack of sorts and will get territorial of them if others try and get too close.
